Vote on the WordPress admin header and navigation design tweaks

April 30, 2009 | No Comments Yet

Several members of the WordPress community have volunteered to make tweaks to the WordPress administration panel and now it’s time for you to vote.

For those who haven’t been keeping track, read this background story.

Okay, so here’s the deal. Modifying the nav/header to be a little nicer is was a last-minute design idea, and if it can’t be worked out in the time we have left before 2.8 (which is very little), we’ll just wait until 2.9 to work on it. But! If someone comes up with something the community really likes and it doesn’t break any of the design guidelines for the rest of WordPress, we could sneak it in.

The poll will close at 8pm New York Time or 2am UTC. Here’s another chance to have a say in the development of WordPress!

Bagong Botante

The Bagong Botante blog is maintained by the Education and Information Development arm of COMELEC and helps inform the masses about voting procedures and the latest developments involving this government unit.

One of the big problems with any government-related endeavor is that the public is poorly informed of what to do, and therefore are intimidated to participate. Blogging can address this problem and bring institutions like the Commission on Elections closer to the people.

The original blog was hosted at but now it has moved to its own domain at

Voting opens for the Bloggers’ Choice Award at the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards

September 10, 2008 | No Comments Yet

The Philippine Blog Awards 2008 has just announced the nominees for the Bloggers’ Choice Award and the voting has opened. The process has changed since last year:

  • You need to be a Filipino blogger with a blog, which “must be established at least three (3) months from today with a minimum of 10 posts.”
  • You need to pick one nominee and write a blog post about why he/she deserves to win. “Yes, you can vote for your own blog. And no, you cannot vote for a blog that is not on the list of official Bloggers’ Choice Award nominees.”
  • You need to include the list of sponsors in your blog post.
  • You need to submit your blog post here.

So why would you go through all the trouble of doing that? Every blog post counts as one raffle entry (but one post per blogger only). Prizes to that raffle will be announced soon.

Finally, congratulations to the nominees:
