WordPress Theme: Duotone

January 31, 2011 | No Comments Yet

You might remember the smart, color-matching photoblogging theme released by Automattic called Monotone. As a holiday gift to WordPress.com users, an updated version called Duotone has been released, with the following new features:

  1. Manually choose your blog’s background color instead of automatically doing so
  2. Edit three widget areas at the bottom of the theme
  3. Display EXIF data from your photos

WordPress.com users can enjoy this theme instantly, but for self-hosted users you’re not left out: download the theme here. View the demo here.

Binary Silver WordPress theme

Binary Silver is a one-column white and yellow photoblog theme created by Estan Cabigas. It’s got three widgetized areas in the footer and is optimized for several ad formats. It works with WP 2.7.1.

As a photoblog, I designed this theme to have a simple layout and, most importantly, make the photo stand out. There’s lots of white space and well appointed text blocks.

WordPress Theme: Monotone

May 8, 2008 | 1 Comment

Monotone WordPress Theme

Made especially for WordPress.com photoblogs, Monotone is a unique theme that matches its color with the first photograph in each blog post.

Monotone takes the first image attached to a post and samples colors from it for use in the surrounding layout. The result is a customized beautiful photo blogging theme for all WP.com users.

Those who are dying to use this theme on self-hosted WordPress blogs will need to wait since theme author, Noel Jackson, says it will be available to the public “pretty soon”. But you can access the theme files through SVN.
