Philippine Blog Awards 2009 nominations open, goes nationwide

July 13, 2009 | No Comments Yet

What’s the single most important step to get the Philippine Blog Awards rolling? The nominations, of course. The process seems a lot simpler this year, but there are still a good number of guidelines for eligibility you have to keep in mind. Deadline is on August 13 at 11:59 pm, Philippine time.

But that’s just the start of the exciting new features in this year’s prestigious blogging event: aside from a swanky site redesign, the blog awards will take place not just in Luzon (October 9) but also in Visayas (October 17) and Mindanao (October 24). Looks like this year’s theme is to unite the three main islands of the Philippines under “one blogging nation”. This shouldn’t be so difficult to do as blogging groups are more active than ever down south!

2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit a success!

October 30, 2008 | 2 Comments

The people behind the excellent WordCamp Philippines have gone back to their homeland and did it again: the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit was bigger and better the second time around.

Through our efforts as a community, more bloggers are now more aware of their unique role as messengers of peace and truth. Young Mindanaoans and (ahem!) more mature ones alike are all in agreement that there is a responsibility to present Mindanao truthfully and aggressively to the whole world via blogging.

Even bloggers who live outside Mindanao flew south to show support for MBS2. You can read more about it on their website.
