Instant Install WordPress

May 19, 2009 | No Comments Yet

Instant Install WordPress is a small PHP script that downloads and extracts the latest WordPress version on your site server. Once uploaded all you have to do is call it (e.g. http://www.yoursite.com/easywp.php) and it will ask for details to fill out the configuration file, then installs WordPress. This basically winds down installation time from the famous 5 minutes to just about a few seconds!

(Note: This tool was first called EasyWP but the creator discovered it had the same name as an existing plugin.)

October 16, 2008 | No Comments Yet

If you’re running a Windows Server on your website (or your webhost is), then the Microsoft Web Application Installer should make things easier to install our beloved WordPress software.

With just a few simple clicks, Web AI will check your machine for the necessary pre-requisites, download these applications from their source location in the community, walk you through basic configuration items and then install them on your computer.

Once you’ve downloaded and installed Web AI, go get the installer for WordPress and you should be all set.
