Bloggers Kapihan initiates cyberprotest against Con-Ass on July 26

July 24, 2009 | No Comments Yet

Bloggers Kapihan is inviting everyone to participate in the cyberprotest against the Constituent Assembly or Con-Ass this July 26, one day before President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s last State of the Nation Address (SONA).

I’m not sure if this is the Philippines’ Blog Action Day movement for the current year, but considering it’s one of the biggest issues plaguing the nation today, it probably is. Take note of how you can participate in this cause thru blogging, texting, and joining Facebook groups:

Sa araw na iyon, isulat natin sa ating mga websites, blogs, at status updates kung bakit ayaw natin sa con-ass.
Narito ang mga iminumungkahi naming gawin natin sa Linggo:

Blog Action Day. Mag-blog tungkol sa con-ass at gamitin ang anti-con-ass banners sa
Online petition. Lumagda sa Kabataan Kontra Cha-cha online petition.

Text vs con-ass. Ipada sa 09071134503 ang message sa ganitong format: [no2conass] [space] [your message].

Facebook groups at causes. Sumali sa groups at causes gaya ng Pilipinas Kontra Con-Ass, No to Con-Ass!, at Stop Con-Ass Now!.

Coy Caballes has posted a partial video of an interview about blogging and the Philippine Blog Awards in Mornings @ ANC. In the video, TJ Manotoc interviews Juned Sonido, Ferdz Decena, and Karlo Licudine. Watch out for part two!

Also check the links in the post for more coverage by other stations including GMA, QTV, and TV5. Who says the “old” and “new” media can’t get along?
